Touch 6: What is it?

Pain, at its most basic, is nerve ending responding to a particular situation and sending a warning to the brain. Physical pain is truly unavoidable. When it happens it happens.

But mental pain? We humans have learned to dodge that. To hide it beneath the surface. There's no nerve ending yelling at us.

But there is this thing called loneliness that happens. An isolation of feeling. So maybe we need to retrain ourselves to have a nerve like reaction when emotional instability comes our way. Maybe learning to get treatment in this area is just as, if not more important, to getting treatment for our knicks and bruises.

Lent is almost over. And it is inviting you, in its waning moments, to lament.

Learn to let it out.
